I never got an email, so I'm posting in comment form for now.

I live in a small(ish) town called Hood River, in Oregon. Among other things, Hood River is known for being one of the best places in the country for windsurfing. So, naturally, everyone and their mother windsurfs--literally. Hood River is a windsurfing boomtown. It's infrastructure was built entirely around windsurfing over the last twenty years, and now all those windsurfers have settled down and had kids, like myself, who eventually took up the sport. So that is what I did over the summer: I stood on a board and held onto a sail and bounced over waves on the expansive Columbia River. It feels like freedom. Actually, it feels like freedom took a ride on a rollercoaster. I like it so much I even work in the industry as an instructor at a beginner beach called 'The Hook.' I doubt I'll ever have a better job, and I have sincerely considered ditching the whole college thing and being a surfing bum. Maybe after I finish school. Anyway, if you ever want to learn how to windsurf, which, in my opinion, means learning how to have fun, then take a trip up to Hood River. I'll even give you a private lesson.
